Luxury Eyewear, Reasonably Priced
The folks over at Warby Parker have come up with a wonderfully simple concept: make quality, fashionable eyewear at equally wonderful prices (each frame runs you about $95, lenses included). And as if the price alone weren’t incentive enough, they donate a pair of specs to assorted charities for every frame purchased (consider them TOMs, but for your eyes).
I formerly subscribed to the belief that eyeglasses, being everyday non-negotiable things, were something you really had to spend good money on. I mean, they sit there squarely on your face… All. Day.
But the more I stare at their dark-tortoise Fillmores (and the two-toned Huxley’s!), the more inclined I am to admit that — as with many, many other things — I was just clearly (and perhaps a bit stubbornly) in the wrong.
